Alex
Alex and Morgan stayed up all night catching up. He- no, SHE- had grown up so much since Alex left for college. She was about to graduate high school, having just turned 18 a month ago. They had already planned a belated birthday trip to the cottage later in the summer.
Alex watched Morgan as she told him about all of the typical parent antics that he had missed, and then about her friends, and her college acceptances. He told her about his final classes, his internship, and his friends and girlfriend coming to visit. In many ways it was like no time at all had passed, and in some ways she was completely- obviously- different.
He had always known that Morgan was different- kids at school would’ve bullied his brother if he hadn’t had enough social capital (and obvious height, which usually mattered more) to nip it in the bud. Growing up, his brother always understood him in a way that no friends ever did, and it went both ways. Alex was surprised at Morgan’s transition, but not shocked- now that he’d had a few hours to process it, he realized that it was inevitable. He was genuinely happy for his sister- even if that still felt a little bit weird to say.
They made junk food and camped out in the basement like they did when they were kids. Their parents gave them the space to reconnect, on the condition that they agree to a family dinner the next night.
They fell asleep together on the couch in the wee hours of the morning, locked into a video game battle that had been going on for a decade.
Morgan
She woke up on the couch to the sound of her video game controller hitting the floor. The next thing she registered was warmth along her legs. They were entangled with her brother’s, as they had both fallen asleep on the couch. At some point in the night one of their parents must have put a blanket over them, and Morgan was sweating under it.
She wouldn’t have moved her legs for all the money in the world, though. She stretched a cramp out of her legs, smiling when he adjusted in his sleep to snuggle closer to her. She felt her clit stir between her legs, begging for attention. She gently reached into her pyjama pants, careful not to move too much, and started stroking. She focused on the heat coming off of her brother’s legs, subtly grinding hers into his while she stroked.
It felt so good to be reconnected with him. She thought about their hug, how he had crushed her into him as soon as he got home. She had catalogued every single touch since then, from their fingers brushing against each other when they both went to grab some chips, to the way he playfully jostled her when she beat him in their video game. Each touch left a brand on her, a temporary white hot signal of desire and need that had been building for years.
She knew she could never act on it, and she knew that she had to stop- especially now that he was living back at home.
She vowed that this would be her last brother related fantasy, and leaned all the way into it. She thought about kissing him, how his tongue would feel as he explored her mouth. She imagined his hands squeezing her breasts, first gently and then more firmly, before his tongue licked her nipples. She imagined his cock bulging in his pyjama pants the way her clit was, and imagined grinding up against it as they kissed.
She imagined that the sweat on their legs was earned from sex- from writhing together as he entered her, from shared orgasms through shared bonds.

Morgan awoke first, reluctantly untangling her legs from Alex’s as she brought the cum-stained blanket to the laundry. A few minutes later, a playful tug of her hair alerted her that Alex had joined her in the kitchen.
“So, like, can I still tease you and bother you? It feels like a necessary brotherly duty,” he teased.
“Of course- you need to find some way to take out your frustration when I keep beating you at video games…and board games…and card games…” Morgan joked back.
“Touche, little sister, touche,” he said with a grin. He reached over her to grab some milk out of the fridge, his body pressing hers into the counter. She could feel his heat, and smell his toothpaste.
She reminded herself that the instant tingle she felt between her legs was inappropriate, and that the scent of toothpaste was not a signal to think about her tongue in his mouth. Her fantasies had to stop. She took a few deep breaths, just as her parents entered the room.
“We have decided to turn family dinner into family day,” they announced enthusiastically.
The siblings groaned through their smiles, putting on the show of reluctance that family bonding required. In truth, they were both happy to be back together.
Alex
The first few weeks of summer flew by. Between his internship, catching up with high school friends, video chatting with Anissa, and hanging out with Morgan, he felt busier than when he had a full course load plus varsity practice.
Anissa’s first visit had arrived, and he was genuinely looking forward to it. He missed hanging out with her- video chatting just wasn’t the same- and the few times that he had tried to flirt with her, she had made an excuse and disconnected the call a few minutes after. He was really hoping that they could find the spark when she visited- he had even convinced his parents that she should sleep in his room- after all, he was a college graduate.
He was also excited to introduce Anissa to Morgan- he thought that they would get along really well, if only because Alex got along well with both of them. He talked about his brother with Anissa a lot, so had to take a bit of time to explain that his brother was now a sister, but she took the news in stride. She said that she was happy that the two siblings had reconnected, and was excited to get to meet the infamous Morgan.
Reconnected didn’t quite feel like the right word, because it truly felt as if their connection had never been severed in the first place. Alex and Morgan had fallen back into their easy routine, as if no time had ever passed- and as if they had been brother and sister all along. They pranked and annoyed their parents, they jostled for video game supremacy, they talked about their thoughts and their feelings and their friends. Morgan had even taken up softball, playing on the girl’s team at their high school.
“You throw like a girl,” Alex told her one night as they were playing catch in the backyard.
“I will take that as a compliment,” she said cheekily. She tossed her long, blonde hair for effect before lobbing the ball back to him.
“What time are you going to get Anissa?” Morgan asked conversationally.
“Her flight gets in late tonight. I am sure she’ll be tired, so I probably won’t make introductions until the morning,” Alex replied.
“Is that because she’ll be tired, or because you want to get her naked without the delays of family introductions?” Morgan asked with a mascara clad wink.
“Tired, perv,” Alex chuckled. “Actually, we don’t really do much…of that,” he admitted sheepishly.
“Why not?” Morgan asked, her facing lighting up in curiosity.
“She’s just been really focused on school,” he answered quickly- maybe too quickly. “She needed good grades to get into law school, and I didn’t want to be a distraction. We kiss and stuff, and we’ve had sex a few times,” he added clumsily, “but she rarely wants it. I’m sure now that school is over we can get into some other extracurricular activities,” he finished brightly.
“Well maybe you’re a terrible kisser, have you considered that?” Morgan joked, tossing the ball back at him.
“Shut up,” he retorted, his cheeks colouring in embarrassment. The truth was, he had thought about that- he was worried about it.
“I’m kidding, big brother, I am sure you are a fantastic kisser,” she said, “not that I have ever thought of that…just, you know, because I am an excellent kisser, so it must run in the family,” she finished awkwardly.
“Oh? And who are you going off kissing?” he asked, relieved at the opportunity to shift the focus onto his sister.
“That is none of your concern,” she said coyly, “but I assure you I’ve received nothing but rave reviews.”
Morgan
She cringed at the memory of telling her brother that she thought he was a good kisser. Luckily he hadn’t read anything into it- she had a quick save- but yikes! That was bad.
She had been trying really hard not to think about Alex in that way- not about kissing, touching, or anything naked- but when he broke a sweat tossing the ball around with her, she’d bit her lip more than once.
In truth she had only kissed two people in her life. One was when she was still a boy- she had kissed a girl at school during recess in middle school, on a dare. A clumsy mashing of lips behind a tree while their classmates oohed and ahhed. It wasn’t exactly bad as far as first kisses go, but it was safe to say that Morgan didn’t feel anything resembling desire.
Since transitioning, she had kissed one other person. It happened when she was a junior, newly presenting as female. He was a senior who transferred from across town for a better basketball program. They were both coming out of the locker room late after their respective practices (back then Morgan always waited until everyone was gone before she undressed), and literally bumped into each other. She almost tripped, but he caught her around the waist at the last minute, their eyes meeting for a moment that could move mountains. There was some clumsy flirting for the next couple of weeks, both of them intentionally staying late to run into each other.
Finally, there was a kiss- a perfect, amazing, fireworks-laden kiss, up against the wall in the gym. He had interrupted her sentence, finally overcome with the lust that they had been stoking for weeks. He touched the side of her face, wrapping his hand around her before crushing his lips to hers. The kiss was urgent, their tongues finding each other instantly, greedily exploring while their hands wandered. When they finally came up for air, she was gasping and flushed.
There were lots of kisses after that, but when Morgan wanted more, he wanted her to be a secret. She knew she deserved better, so she did the hard thing and ended it.
It was something that she would’ve loved to have been able to talk to her big brother about, but at that point he didn’t know about her transition, or that she liked kissing boys. She had talked to her therapist instead, and was proud of herself for putting her own needs (and dignity) first.
She knew that she needed to do that again where Alex was concerned. Not put her own needs first- if that were the case, she would be straddling him on the couch right now instead of besting him at cards. No, she needed to prioritize her dignity, and his. Fantasizing about a sibling was wrong on so many levels; she knew that she could never act on it, so she needed to stop torturing herself.
She was glad that Alex’s girlfriend was coming over. She hoped that seeing him with her- having his needs met and being genuinely happy- would cool her lust and remind her that the feelings she was having were forbidden. She was bummed (on Alex’s behalf) to hear about the troubles he was having with intimacy, but reassured him later on a more serious note that he was doing the right thing in respecting Anissa’s boundaries, and that if he was worried about it he should have an honest conversation with her.
She left out the offer that he could kiss her and she could give him (purely objective) feedback.
She heard Alex and Anissa come down the hall after midnight, slipping quietly into his room. She could hear low voices, Alex’s deep and Anissa’s higher pitched, a feminine voice that Morgan craved having one day. She wasn’t eavesdropping- it isn’t her fault that their beds were both pressed against the same wall. When they were kids they used to communicate back and forth via knocks- two knocks for ‘come over’, three knocks for ‘lets steal snacks from the kitchen’.
She couldn’t make out any words, but she could tell that they were both animated and excited. They talked for an hour while Morgan read a book, oddly comforted by the cadence of the muffled conversation. Eventually the conversation stopped, but the sound didn’t. She could hear her brother’s soft moans through the wall, and a sporadic creak of the mattress.
Her fingers were stroking her clit before she even realized it.
She tried to stop- she really did. She took her fingers off of her clit, deliberately picking up her book. She focused on the words on the page, tuning out the noises (and associated imagery) from the other side of the wall.
Were they having sex? Were her brother’s hands exploring breasts, creating wetness between his girlfriend’s legs? Was his tongue licking salty sweat and sweet need?
She bit her lip to focus, but it quickly turned into licking her lips, dreaming that the moisture on them was from her brother’s kiss. Each groan of the mattress was a new sensation on her body, a new place for her brother to touch. Her fingers were back on her clit, stroking herself to orgasm as she imagined her brother’s body against hers.
She eventually moaned with him, wondering if he had cum too.
—
After spending a day with the happy couple, Morgan was sure of three things:
One, Anissa was beautiful- breathtaking, really, with her chestnut hair, olive skin, and two hundred watt smile.
Two, Anissa was a perfect mix of smart and funny, with contagious energy that made you want to be around her.
Three, Anissa was not the right girl for her brother.
It wasn’t that there was anything wrong with her- in fact, Morgan had begun to somewhat idolize her over the course of the day. Anissa had a way of making her feel like she was the only person in the room, and even the most interesting. For someone inherently shy and reserved like Morgan, Anissa was a dream.
She had a very different effect on Alex, though. Around her Alex became self conscious, which is a look that Morgan had never seen her brother wear. He was unsure and unsteady, which was wildly unsettling. His body language was stiff, his hugs with Anissa given with a straight back, instead of his usual relaxed ease when hugging Morgan. He was dressed weird, wearing a button down shirt and khakis instead of his usual tshirt and jeans. He was even talking differently- quieter, less…funny.
“What gives, bro?” Morgan finally asked him when they had a moment alone in the kitchen.
“What do you mean?” Alex replied, his newly patented hyperawareness creeping in, even with his sister.
“You need to take a breath, man. It’s like you’ve been abducted by aliens. You’re a timid mess, without an ounce of self confidence…it’s like you’re…well, the old me,” Morgan said with a friendly jab.
“Am not,” Alex said defensively. “I don’t know what you’re talking about- I am totally normal around her. Maybe I am a little more reserved or…polished, but that’s what I was like in college. You didn’t know me then- you haven’t known me in years- so maybe just butt out and stop analyzing my relationship,” he snapped.
“Woah, okay, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings,” Morgan said, offering her hands up in surrender. “I just hate seeing you edit yourself to impress someone who should already be impressed by you,” Morgan said carefully.
“Look, I appreciate your concern, but Anissa deserves someone spectacular- someone accomplished, refined. She is going places in life, and I want to be worthy of being by her side,” he said determinedly.
“Alex…you are worthy already,” Morgan said with equal determination.. “You don’t need to put on a new face- or a weird shirt,” she said, looking him up and down.
“Okay, maybe the button down shirt was overkill,” he admitted. “I just really don’t want to screw this up. We actually had sex last night, for the first time in months. It was…it was amazing,” he said wistfully. “I have been in love with her since our first year of college. I want her to want me- I want her to know that I am right for her.”
Morgan looked at him with her signature compassionate stare, made even more piercing now that her features were softened with makeup.
“Are you trying to convince her, or yourself?” Morgan asked quietly.
He ran his fingers through his hair as he considered. Morgan tried not to imagine her own fingers running through his hair, and failed.
